Charis Center accepts most insurance carriers and we are a Medicare provider. Fees vary for different services. For those who do not have insurance, a sliding scale fee discount may be available. Please call (941) 378-1549 for more information.

Shirley comes to the Charis Center with experience in both the mental health and ecumenical faith community. She has a vision of providing emotional and spiritual care for the whole persons and is excited to provide leadership to the ongoing ministry of the Charis Center. She is happy to build on the deep roots and excellent reputation of the work that has been given over the last 18 years under the direction of Glen Denlinger's leadership and commitment to compassionate, professional care.

Shirley's training in Counseling comes from the University of Texas and her training in spiritual direction is from the Anglican School of Theology where she focused her research and writing on the dynamics of Healing and Wholeness in the Christian Community.

Cindy Auchter, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Cindy is well known in the mental health community of the Sun Coast. She comes to Charis with excellent clinical and administrative experience as she has served in hospital, educational and private practice settings over the last 20 years. Cindy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Texas. She has lived in Sarasota for 18 years having established a private psychotherapy practice here 17 years ago. She also co-founded the Counseling Center at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in 1997. Unique to Cindy’s practice is her Senior In-Home Counseling Program which she also brings to the Charis Center.

Cindy’s areas of expertise working with adults, couples, and families include: depression, anxiety, life transitions (including geriatric issues), parenting, relationship issues, post traumatic stress and addictions.
